AIM North America Launches Public Policy Initiative

1/13/2017

The AIM North America (NA) board has approved a Public Policy Initiative.  The initiative will be directed by a newly formed Public Policy Committee. This committee will lead and coordinate the association’s efforts on Capitol Hill related to fostering the adoption and implementation automatic identification and data capture technologies.

AIM NA has already been active in this area for nearly 10 years. The AIT Alliance and Healthcare Committee have built strong agency, departmental and congressional alliances. These efforts are not going away. They will simply fall under the Public Policy Committee to ensure one consistent voice is heard on the Hill.

Finally, to help guide the association, AIM NA has contracted Stan Skocki, CEO, The Capitol Initiatives Group. Stan has been instrumental in the success of the AIT Alliance for the past 7 years.

As an AIM NA member, there is NO FEE associated with participating on the committee. The committee will primarily focus on the following areas:
  • DoD (AIDC/AIT, RFID & IUID; AIT Alliance)
  • FDA (UDI)
  • IoT
  • FCC
All industry stakeholders are invited to attend the upcoming strategic planning meeting on Wednesday, January 18, 2017  from 10 am – 4 pm CT in Dallas. This is an opportunity for you and your fellow committee members and provide input into the formation of the committee’s goals and objectives.
