AIM announced Tesco as the recipient of the 2017 Percival Award during a special ceremony that concluded a short time ago in Phoenix Arizona. The ceremony was part of the annual AIM Partnership Breakfast held during RFD Journal LIVE!
The Percival Award, co-sponsored by AIM and SCAN – The Data Capture Report, honors outstanding contributions in the user community. It was established in 1982 to honor Don Percival, an early founder and pioneer in scanning. The award is presented each year to an individual or organization from the user community recognizing outstanding contributions to the application of automatic identification and data capture technologies. Tesco is one of the world’s largest retailers. Established in 1919, the UK-based business was built around a mission to be the champion for customers, and today’s team of more than 480,000 Tesco employees worldwide strives to serve shoppers a little better every day. Tesco has deployed RFID in hundreds of stores for accurate inventory management of the Tesco F&F fashion brand — one of the largest and most thorough retail RFID deployments in the world. Accepting the award on behalf of Tesco was Chris Heys, who is currently leading the Tesco team in the implementation of their new inventory management solution. Earlier this year, AIM Chief Operating Officer Mary Lou Bosco spoke to all of the award winners, "The AIM Awards Class of 2017 represents amazing talent, diversity and commitment to our industry...how much AIM has evolved and the vast opportunities that are ahead of us as AIM continues to expand around the globe."
